Verse 1 अनन्तसंसारसमुद्रतार- नौकायिताभ्यां गुरुभक्तिदाभ्याम् । वैराग्यसाम्राज्यदपूजनाभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ १ ॥ Ananta saṃsāra samudra tāra-naukāyitābhyāṃ gurubhaktidābhyām | Vairāgya sāmrājyada pūjanābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 1 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which act as a boat to cross the endless ocean of Saṃsāra (worldly existence), Which bestow devotion to the Guru, And the worship of which grants the sovereignty of renunciation (Vairāgya). Verse 2 कवित्ववाराशिनिशाकराभ्यां दौर्भाग्यदावाम्बुदमालिकाभ्याम् । दूरीकृतानम्रविपत्तिताभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ २ ॥ Kavitva vārāśi niśākarābhyāṃ daurbhāgya dāvāmbuda mālikābhyām | Dūrīkṛtānamra vipattitābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 2 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which are like the full moon to the ocean of poetry (or knowledge/artistic skill), Which are like a chain of rain clouds for the forest fire of misfortune, And which caumpletely remove the distress of those who bow before them. Verse 3 नता ययोः श्रीपतितां समीयुः कदाचिदप्याशु दरिद्रवर्याः । मूकाश्च वाचस्पतितां हि ताभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ३ ॥ Natā yayōḥ śrīpatitāṃ samīyuḥ kadācidapyāśu daridravaryāḥ | Mūkāśca vācaspatitāṃ hi tābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 3 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, By bowing to which, even the poorest of the poor quickly attain the status of the Lord of Wealth (Śrīpati), And by which even the mute attain the eloquence of a great orator (Vācaspati, Brihaspati). Verse 4 नालीकनीकाशपदाहृताभ्यां नानाविमोहादिनिवारिकाभ्याम् । नमज्जनाभीष्टततिप्रदाभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ४ ॥ Nālīkanīkāśapadāhṛtābhyāṃ nānāvimohādinivārikābhyām | Namajjanābhīṣṭatati pradābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 4 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which draw the mind towards the Guru's lotus-like feet, Which ward off various delusions and other negative thoughts, And which grant a multitude of desired objects to the devotees who bow down. Verse 5 नृपालिमौलिव्रजरत्नकान्ति- सरिद्विराजज्झषकन्यकाभ्याम् । नृपत्वदाभ्यां नतलोकपङ्क्तेः नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ५ ॥ Nṛpālimaulivrajaratnakānti-saridvirājjhajṣakanyakābhyām | Nṛpatvadābhyāṃ natalokapaṅkteḥ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 5 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which shine like a pair of mermaids (jhaṣakanyaka) in the river of light emanating fraum the jewels on the crowns of bowing kings, And which grant kingship (or supreme authority) to the entire host of people who prostrate. Verse 6 पापान्धकारार्कपरम्पराभ्यां तापत्रयाहीन्द्रखगेश्वराभ्याम् । जाड्याब्धिसंशोषणवाडवाभ्याम् नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ६ ॥ Pāpāndhakārārkaparamparābhyāṃ tāpatrayāhīndrakhageśvarābhyām | Jāḍyābdhisaṃśoṣaṇavāḍavābhyām namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 6 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which are like a succession of suns dispelling the darkness of sins, Which are like the Lord of the Birds (Garuḍa) for the great serpents of the three miseries (Tāpatraya), And which are like the submarine fire (Vāḍava) drying up the ocean of inertia (or dullness). Verse 7 शमादिषट्कप्रदवैभवाभ्यां समाधिदानव्रतदीक्षिताभ्याम् । रमाधवाङ्घ्रिस्थिरभक्तिदाभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ७ ॥ Śamādiṣaṭkapradavaibhavābhyāṃ samādhidānavratadīkṣitābhyām | Ramādhavāṅghristhirabhaktidābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 7 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which possess the glory of granting the six qualities beginning with Śama (control of mind, senses, etc.), Which are vowed to bestow the boon of Samādhi (deep meditative absorption), And which grant steadfast devotion to the feet of the Lord of Lakṣmī (Ramādhava, i.e., Vishnu). Verse 8 स्वार्चापराणामखिलेष्टदाभ्यां स्वाहासहायाक्षधुरन्धराभ्याम् । स्वान्ताच्छभावप्रदपूजनाभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ८ ॥ Svārcāparāṇāmakhileṣṭadābhyāṃ svāhāsahāyākṣadhurandharābhyām | Svāntācchabhāvapradapūjanābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 8 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which grant all desires to those intent on worshipping them, Which bear the burden of assisting the senses (akṣa) with the help of the sacred offering (Svāhā), And the worship of which bestows the state of pure joy (or clear heart, svānta). Verse 9 कामादिसर्पव्रजगारुडाभ्यां विवेकवैराग्यनिधिप्रदाभ्याम् । बोधप्रदाभ्यां द्रुतमोक्षदाभ्यां नमो नमः श्रीगुरुपादुकाभ्याम् ॥ ९ ॥ Kāmādisarpavrajagāruḍābhyāṃ vivekavairāgyanidhipradābhyām | Bodhapradābhyāṃ drutamokṣadābhyāṃ namo namaḥ śrīgurupādukābhyām || 9 || Salutations and Salutations to the revered Guru's Sandals, Which are like the Garuda for the multitude of serpent-like desires (Kāma) and other vices, Which grant the treasure of discrimination (Viveka) and renunciation (Vairāgya), Which bestow enlightenment (Bodha) and quickly grant liberation (Mokṣa).
